Spring Spacer Question

My Disco is a 96 D1. I just added 2" spring spacers under my rear springs which are HD OME763's. In the front I have OME764 springs and 1" spacers. Is the above setup considered a 3" lift or a 4" lift?
Now that I have added the 2" spacers below my rear springs instead of the 1" spacers which I had previously, do I need to lengthen my Rovertym HD rear trailing arms to correct the pinion angle by adding an extra spacer. Currently I have 3/8" and 1/2" spacers together on the rear trailing arms which was recomended by RTE when having a 3" suspension lift.

Thanks, Tarek

Is it considered a 3 or 4" lift? I have a similar config on my truck (except with 3" springs in the front and 3+1" spacers in the rear)...I consider it a 3" lift. When you load up the back it levels out somewhat, and anyway I like the tail high stance of the truck. I feel that it helps with the disco's natural weight transfer problems to the rear when climbing.

As for re-shimming the traling links, climb underneath and check out the pinion angle. If it is still acceptable, don't bother. You can only shim so much anyway, before you start to run out of thread on the links.

It seems like when I got my RTE lift the front was higher than I liked. Even with a front bumper and 12K winch it still looked like I was runnin' up hill. So, I added 1" spacers to the rear and 7/16 spacers I made to the front to get the look I wanted. I guess you can call it what you want but i'm happy with the look.

Tarek,

I think you posted something like this before. I have the same setup you do. I had my links lengthened a little longer than the standard length so I could have a little bit of play with the spacers. If you have the standard links that RTE builds, I would think you will need all of the spacers.

Just be careful. If you do not have enough nylon contacting the threads or if they are worn out, USE RED LOCKTITE on them. From removing that nut so many times and not getting a new one the nylon was worn out. I noticed a wicked wander when I let off the gas and it turned out that one of the nuts loosened up.

Thanks, Steve for the advise.
