Squealing while accelerating and vibration between 30 - 40

Okay, before you say drive shaft, they've already been replaced (GBR) with around 40k on them.

Here is the scenario on the 03 Disco:

1. Accelerate down the street and it squeals fairly loud but inconsistent
2. I hit 30 or so and the vibration begins but lessens after 45 or so
3. I shift it into neutral while still moving down the road along with revving the engine and no squealing
4. Shift back into drive, accelerate and it squeals
5. Limp back home, put it into park, rev the engine no squealing

There doesn't seem to be any play/sloppiness in the shafts when in driveway and put into neutral. I'm somewhat stumped. Unless I'm over-thinking this whole thing, I'm not sure where to look. It does sound like it's coming from the passenger side however.

Thoughts?

It's not the idler pulley; the vibration I'm getting isn't synonymous with that.

It does sound like a joint and yes I do believe the GBR uses a non-serviceable centering kit. Will check when I drop the shaft.

Maybe so but 40k? I've gotten over a 100k out of u-joints on these trucks. The front shaft is out and the u-joints look fine. The centering ball is another matter. Not sure what I'm looking for as nothing seems to stick out (literally or figuratively).

Holy shit, 100k?!! I want to know the name of those u-joints. Your not going to be able to tell anything by just looking. 40K is not unreasonable for sealed or neglected serviceable joints. I would replace them all with a new centering kit and grease-able joints.

Finally found the culprit; bad u-joint. Let the told-you-so fly. Had the front shaft rebuilt, again, with all new joints and centering ball.

However, I stand behind on over 100k on the original u-joints. Like anything on these trucks, if you maintain them, and I've maintained mine religiously, even while taking it places that we all want to go, they will treat you right.

There are a myriad of reasons why these trucks fail some people but not mine; still going strong at 172k (just jinxed myself).

Anyway, wanted to close this thread out. One of my pet peeves is when people start a thread and/or someone posts a solution for the OP to try and the OP never comes back around for the final comment.
