Yeah we just taking care of the gene pool. That's all. However we win the series and we didn't turn over any cars, no fires, and I didn't even hear of any fights. More than you can say for other cities.

yeh well i am sure Chris will come up with a way to blame this on the Dems.

(i posted this in the NYC thread too)

Check the numbers, Cities that vote blue tend to be very dangerous.

Detriot, DC, New York, St Louis, Chicago... Just to name a few.

Criminals tend to prey on the good intentions of the bleeding hearts.

And, to be fair, the City of St Louis is fairly small. In St louis County there are soemthing like 90 smaller "Cities"..

That biases the number quite a bit.

And Brick, NJ ... which was rated the #1 safest, which is in Ocean County, NJ:

Ocean County is a Republican stronghold in New Jersey. All parts of the county are represented by Republicans at the federal, state and county level.

Doug Forrester carried Ocean County by 12 points in the 2005 New Jersey gubernatorial election, winning every municipality but Lakewood Township. A year before, George W. Bush won the county by 21 points, carrying every municipality in the county.

Bill, NICE!!!!

Wisconsin is SUPER blue.... I couldnt get out fast enough. ;)

Are you kidding? :smilelol:

Wisconsin is the most "purple" state in the union. Madison and parts of Milwaukee are deep, deep blue, but the other 90% of the state is nearly as red to the same degree. The problem for republicans in Wisconsin is that for Gubernatorial, senatorial and other state-wide elections, Madison and Milwaukee very nearly beat the rest of the state combined in terms of population. It's hard for a conservative to win when there are two very liberal cities that have more voters than the rest of the state combined.

Yet, if you look at the composition of our State Assembly (where those elected only run in their districts), it's like a neo-con convention in there. The repubs in the assembly not only have a majority, they have a super-majority to where they can override the governor's veto if they wanted to. Have you seen our gubernatorial race this year? Still a week away from the election, and none of the pollsters are willing to say anything but "too close to call."

What do you expect from the state that would Elect Joseph McCarthy and a Socialist mayor of Milwaukee at the same time? A state represneted by both "Tex" Sensenbrenner (A Bush wannabe and hardcore Bush Enabler) and Russ Feingold (soft socialist) at the same time?

This state is far to difficult to pigeonhole into one category or the other. In any given election, it can go either way here. In 2008, Wisconsin may wind up being the new Ohio or Florida as far as battleground status.

If Wisconsin's status (in your perception) as a "blue" state really bothered you that much, you should have stayed. We're so close on our elections that your one vote might have made the difference at this point.

Actually, I am glad that you said something. Milwaukee has a strong socialistic history...

"Frank Zeidler, the Mayor of Milwaukee from 1948-1960. He was the last in a string of 12 socialist mayors and was re-elected twice during the McCarthy era. In 1976, he was the Socialist Party candidate for president of the U.S. "

And then again with John Norquist from 1988-2003.

And Madison..... well, all I can say is you can be asked, "Did you want fries with that?" by a PhD..... enough said! Not a stretch to figure out what party they would vote for.

You've been here, I see. ;)

Yeah, Madison, where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an M.D., Ph.D., Ed.D., J.D., or some other person that has an alphabet soup after their name....

These days though, all the fast food jobs are taken by the illegal immigrants, since the Ph.Ds have all gone to work in the stem cell research companies that are springing up all over the place. Take a look at the Madison.com jobs section, and every job in there is looking for a Ph.D in molecular biology or something like that.

it's getting to the point around here where an honest engineer like myself can't find work cause I don't have a Ph.D in soemthing with the world "molecular" or "genetics" in it.
