Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems

For a D1.

Can they handle the beating trail riding can dish out?

I can get a Bosal cat back system (mild steel) for $169. I'm thinking it will last 4 years max.

While most stainless system are guaranteed for life against rusting out (Borla, NRP) they are around $550 - $600.

If they can handle the beating I would go with a stainless steel system since I plan on keeping the truck 'forever'.

Any advice is appreciated.

The NRP is a top quality system. It will fit perfectly, and is very durable. Because it fits so well, you won't have any clamps or sections of pipe hanging down in harms way. It will last forever, and then some. More money up front, but you will never have to replace it.

I've been running an NRP on my Defender for 4 years, and have never had any regrets about the purchase.

I would think where its positioned under the vehicle has more to do with trail life than the type of steel. Quality steel will resist rust better and I guess it could be stronger too regarding rocks and trail carnage.

Thanks for the input.

I took a closer look at my existing exhaust, and the muffler has a big dent in the bottom, and the resonator is also pretty beat up.

Maybe I should accept the fact that I can't drive worth a damnn on rocks.
