Tail end of breaking in a rebuilt 4.6. After a 30 minute highway drive I slowed to turn off and she died. No sputtering or missing just died. Truck restarted but only with giving it lots of gas. Whenever it would get below 2k rpms it will stall again, no sputtering just cuts out. It will start but again only with plenty of gas.

To make it home I had to slip it in N at lights to keep the rpms up, back off and slip in D and reapply the gas. I do have a GM ignition mod installed, could it have fried on the highway or if it wa fried would it start at all? The fuel filter I good and the plugs are new.

One last thing, it will sometimes act normal for a while after you get is started, ie: idle and maintain proper rpm without stalling.

i read through your post and then saw GM ign module.......ive been there done that.....i tired 3 or 4 different mounting ideas before i gave up and installed a rover ign module remotely near coil.....if i had to do it again i would just go that route.......although i now see that mallory and pertronix make dizzys for our trucks and the ign module is internal i think.....
