Stalling and no start ~ not the battery

I recently picked up another '04 Disco. It ran great on the test ride and the way home.

The next day it stalled at a stop sign and wouldn't start. I got a jump and everything was fine. So I get home and check the alternator first thing. It's charging just fine. Bring the battery to Auto Zone...tests fine. Driving the next day and the M & S lights start flashing while I'm driving. Pull over, shut of the truck, restart and everything is fine. Then it stalls again a little later. When it stalls, it cranks but doesn't fire at all. Let it sit a minute and it's fine.

I'm narrowing it down to either the XYZ switch or cam sensor.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

UPDATE:

More info that might be helpful...

Made the mistake of driving this thing to work today. Stalled twice on my way and again pulling into the parking lot.

Common denominator to stalling...low RPM will in Drive. Anything under 1k RPMs and the oil light flickers and then it flat lines. It will idle perfectly fine in neutral or park.

About five minutes of sitting and it fires right up.

Try checking the crank sensor on the driver's side between the exhaust header and front of bell housing, about halfway down. This happened on my wife's D2 last month.

is the negative lead on the battery super secure? also grounded? I had this and it was a barely loose negative lead, the terminal post was a little thinner and you couldnt crank the lead bolt down tight enough, some cable wire stuffed in to compress fixed it.

Crank and no start on a DII is a bad crank shaft position sensor. XYZ switch wouldn't cause it to stall. If the XYZ switch was bad there would be no crank. The other possible issue is the interior fuse box, but that isn't super common. Check out this post I made on NAS-ROW on how to check if it is the fuse box. Chris also included a video on how to replace the CkPS. I didn't watch the video, but my tip would be to plug in the new sensor from the top and then drop it down to bolt it in place.

Wish I would have known that last year when my system went down. Great write up

Let me reiterate: My wife had the M&S light up before the first stall, it restarted a few minutes later. Then it stalled at a traffic light, it restarted again after a few minutes. Ran rough at low RPM's. I changed the CPS and all has been working well ever since.
