Anybody know where to find steel wheels for a D2? Any preferences? What is your favorite? Any pics? I would like to get some black steel rims but I am having a hard time finding any here in Canada. Thanks in advance, Nathan

Trek Outfitters - Pro Comp
Safari Gard - Pro Comp
Land Rover - Genuine
Atlantic British, DAP, and Rovers North also sell something but I'm not sure if they are NATOs, Pro Comps, etc.

same question but for a D1. 15"x8"s with a little wider offset to widen the stance of the car. I'm leaning towards 33" 1250 mud terrains on that wheel.....if i can find that wheel anywhere. How much wider will that be on a D1 over the stock alloys i have right now with 265x75 all terrains. Thanks.

I just ordered 5 16x8 Rock Crawler Series 97 black rims for my white 2000 D2 from Discount Tire. They don't list Rock Crawler as one of their vendors, but they were happy to place the special order. They'll take about 3 or 4 weeks to arrive, so I don't have any pics yet. But I'm gonna wrap them in 247-75 Yokohama Geolander AT/II rubber. I'll post pics as soon as they get in. 4-Wheel Parts sells those too, and they're on sale this month.

I'll probably just hunt down the camaro wheels when the time comes. If you have an extra inch of backspacing will that effect the tire to wheelwell area when you stuff it?

I just looked these up on 4wheelpart's website. Didn't realize they sold 5x120mm pattern. 120mm would be about 4.73 inches so this should be the wheel to fit a DII:

I wonder what modifications, if any, need to be made here? For example, to compensate for lug stud width?

I've heard those rub like a bitch though... Your thoughts?

Thanks.

They rubbed at first but you can see in the attachment I just trim off the corner and was fine. The passenger side on the other hand wasn't trimed enough and ended up tearing the air dam partially off. So I just saws-all it off.

Can't wait to get my RTE front and rear bumber.

Mine are from AB too. I like them, the offset makes them stick out abit and gives a much wider stance. The down side of that is it throws mud all over your rover like a jeep!

I've been kicking around the idea of swaping them to someone with 16" alloys as I'm not sure I like the all black out look.

There are a few more photos in my gallery.

a little off topic, but, is it any harder to balance at's on steel wheels than alloys since the rims arent hubcentric? was thinking of the AB's b/c I like the offset. Will the 16x8s with 265/75 fit with 2" lift and tjm bumper on an 04 d2?

There was a guy last week posting here about interest in steelies for DII's. He's planning on bringing some in from Europe. 15 and 16 inch. Maybe even bead lock also. Do a search. It might help.

I think these are the same wheels I got from SG.
What is the backspacing on yours?

I want:

- strong steel
- black
- good venting holes on the side
- 5x120mm lug pattern
- 16x8
- 4" backspacing
- hubcentric ring
- good bead retention
- solid steel lugnuts for them w/o any damn caps on them

Under $50/rim

Ok.. now who will make them!
