I have a 1998 Land Rover Discovery that I purchased not running. I took out the 4.0 V8 automatic and replaced it with a 300 TDI and 5 speed manual.
After years of the project stalling I am finally ready to start driving it. I have noticed there is a brief resistance when turning the wheel left. It is like there is a moment of no power steering and then it kicks in fine.
It occurs when going right to left and a neutral position to left.
I dont know if this was a problem before the conversion as the engine had a rod through the side of the block. There was no opportunity to test drive it.
Any ideas?
