My steering wheel is shaking a bit. It is only at higher speeds and such. I have heard that it can be the front u joints at 50k plus miles, how can i tell? I am going to have tires balanced and such as well. I went off roading maybe 4 times in the last month is it just a product of that do you guys think or? Hoping to cure it before I drive the the 11th invasion.

Any input is appreciated

Thanks,
Mike

I had the same problem on the highway. One of the front wheels was very out of balance. I would start there.

Broken Arrow, OK
Unfortunately there are several things that could cause the "shakes." Also try to narrow down when it happens. Ie: at speed ranges of ___, when hitting a bump, when going around a corner (which direction), etc. That will help the experts on here diagnose your problem better.

Check your preloads on both swivel balls
Check your steering damper
Bad shocks can cause it
Out of balance tires can cause it too.

X2 Tires. Cheap and easy solution. Any off roading or large bumps can knock your tires out of balance.
Or, one time I just had mud caked on the back of my rim. Quick pressure wash fixed that.
