Anyone installed these on there bumper or guard?

Considering getting a pair and soon and didn't know if they're the best and easiest option for installing.

If you have installed, I'd be very interested in knowing how/where the interior switch is located.

thanks

PS: Just tried the installing the Hella FF75 lights (which use a matching H7 bulb) but they didn't fit into the bumper space near the license plate like originally planned.... bastard.

I have the LR brand Aux lights, the dealership installed them. The switch is located on the blank panel on the left side by the Nav system beside the vent.
I DO NOT like these, especially that they cost so much and arent really bright as a lot of other brands are. I would not recommend them. However they look cool but arent much better than a kitchen candle on bumper.
Im not trying to discourage or talk you out of them.
I mounted the LR ones that I had on my DII on my Yakima rack and they are bright...
If I had to do it all over again, I would probably mount lights on top of vehicle to a rack, not too sure what brand, maybe PIAA or Hella.
The pic I have is before I had them installed, but the arrow points to the place where the switch goes.

The switch is a major PIA to install, but, it works awesome. It is highly integrated into the trucks harness and fuse block once installed.

The lights themselves are terrible though. Really dim, poor quality housing, flimsy mounts, and very fussy to install. They even come with an inaccurate template for cutting your bumper in the wrong spot. What a deal!

If you self install, do a search on that template issue. It's well known and documented...now. You will need a dealer or indy shop with a testbook computer to "enable" the lights in the trucks software ( I told you they were well integrated).

D Chapman, I have replaced the bulbs in those lamps. I dont recall ever seeing Warn label anywhere, That doesnt mean they arent. The older ones I have when I replaced the bulbs in them they had Hella birthmark on the inner housing, but still have the LR badge on them too.

Look carefully to the left of the nav screen, left of the vent, but not as far as the stalk you see a small button. to execute, flip to high beem and then press to activate.

They are bright, but compare it to the high beams in the pic.

Hey oobilloo, nice looking set of lights. They Hellas are way better than bumper mounted LR3 ones....but you are definately right about the high beams.
I enjoy when these podunk ass hillbillies around here bright light me when I have my low beams on and I dont even have to turn the Aux lights on.. I just bright them with the trucks brights... it brings me great pleasure to return the brightness back to them.

Hella 4000..... love em on my D1 and D2. Planned to put them on the lr3 but then the lr3 lights are so good on their own.

The Hella 4000 compacts put out a nice light. We just wired to the battery and high beams, and put the switch to the left of the steering wheel. You could probably use LR's switch plate if that part is available separate.

There's a rubber grommet behind the extra battery box on the drivers side. It's a pain to get to, you can fasten the wire to a coat hanger or something to poke it through. On the inside, remove the big cover beneath the steering column to access.
