I have a 1994 D1 with a problem that I need help with. It is not driven every day. If it sits for a few days it gets stuck. Example: Truck has not moved for 3 days. I get in start it up, shift to drive, press the gas and it won't move. I have to press harder to get the truck to move. It is like the parking brake is on, you can feel the strain to move forward, then it suddenly breaks free and you hear a grown. I can drive around all day without a problem. this only happens when it sits still for a few days. I also have the same problem in reverse. Same strain to break free, same noise when it does.
I know, just drive it every day and the problem will never happen ;)
Can someone give me an idea on where to start looking?

Are you using the parking brake when it sits? If so, this may be sticking.... I would also try to jack it up and check wheel spin at each wheel after sitting, could be a stuck brake caliper...

Other than that.... it might just be saying drive me more.

It does it with or without the parking brake on. I'll check the wheels.

I would check calipers first. Put the CDL in neutral and jack up the front to see if the wheels spin easily. Do the same for the rear. A caliper or two may have frozen shut.

Thank you, that answers my question on the best way to spin the wheels. Since it only happens after sitting a few days I'd have just one shot at checking it.

sounds to me like the trans torque converter is bleeding down.
try starting it up wait about 2-3 mins and see if pulls
if all the fluid is in the trans pan it takes a min or two to get the trans fluid to circulate and make the trans work
