What type of lube do you use? Is antisize good enough? I have been using antisize and it has seem to work well except for this one stuck sliding pin.

It needs to be a penatrating lube...either PB Blaster or Seafoam Deep Creep.

I sprayed the PB Blaster and tried to tap out with a hammer/ channel locks and it still would not come out. I don't want to get too into this project until I get the new sliding pin and boot. I also want to give the PB blaster some time to soak in. (I can see the old boot had a little rip.) I put the old pads back so I can still drive if needed. (I still have decent amount of pad left as well as other old brake pads that can be used until I get the pin out.)

How hard could it be to get this pin out? Might I really need to hammer this peice out with a lot of force? Can I use a blow torch? Is there anything That I can really damage when trying to pull this thing out?

AB sells the caliper carrier (w/ pins and boots) for about $75 if it's a lost cause. I had to replace both of my rear carriers. If you drive it with a bad carrier, you can destroy your disks.

I have 4 extra disk (left over from other brake jobs). I will just have to check the pads constantly untill I get the pin out, hopefully this weekend. If I cannot get it out by this weekend I will call my local shop for help.

I use a MAPP torch on the body of the pin bracket, try not to sizzle the boot, and then work it out with a big pair of channel lock pliers. Has worked for me a few times.
