Look up "dont be a dick"

Good lesson on how to make sure you prepare for going out.
^ not sure how that was going to help me, did not really think I was being a dick ^

But I did find this.
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Don't_be_a_dick , good read but felt it did not apply.

For those concerned that I was messing up a soccer field I would like to clarify some things.

1) This was a retention pond; its main goal is to get flooded when it rains. The community put soccer gals there to make it look less like a large hole in front of the subdivision.

2) It is almost always muddy.

3) I don?t think you could play soccer on it.

4) No visible damage was done other than 2 matted tire tracks that can only be seen if looking for them, and will fade the next time grass is cut.

In any case, I am posting a mspaint picture of the situation to clear up any misconceptions about what I was trying to do.

Once again, thanks for all of the good advice!

nice art work!!!!!!

Anyway I'm not positive but I'm thinking the Don't be a dick comment was a reference back to some commercials that are probably too old for you. It went something like this.

See Dick smoke
See Dick drink
See Dick drive
See Dick wreck his car
etc etc.

Don't be a Dick!

One thing I have been trying to figure out...

Did I just suck at driving? Or was this just too much for my Disco?...

...In any case I am going to be looking around for somebody to show me how to drive my Rover.

Zeek,

These trucks are pretty darn amazing and they can get through a heck of a lot stock.

I was probably the worst driver in the world when I started out. I was a menace to myself.

Thankfully, I was referred to Bill Burke. My dogs and I spent several days in private training with him. A year later, we did the same thing when my skills had improved enough for some additional advanced instruction.

If you can afford the private training, he is WORTH every cent.

At the very least, you can try to hook up with him for group training if you are ever in the same area.

Here is the link to Bill's website: www.bb4wa.com

I can tell you, I don't off-road hard-core like a lot of these guys, but any one of them that is being honest will tell you that a grassy field that gives way to 6-8" of mud when you drive on it is one of the most difficult obstacles to get through. You really do need lockers and mud tires. That's what the old pick-up drivin' red-necks call off-roading -- but really it's just trying to see who gets the most mud on the truck. Sometimes, when you are actually off-roading, you do come across obstacles of that nature, but that is why you drive in pairs and with recovery gear.

Nothing about a stock Disco makes it better at getting through what you describe than a Freelander, or Hummer, or Toyota or whatever -- except for the weight factor -- and there you loose to most everything.

No way.... who is this guy?

He's fucking with everybody. Did you guys see his picture he drew?

If he was for real, he wouldnt qualify for a license.

:(

I am for real. I did not have a camera and I am at work. I drew that image to give you guys an idea what I was dealing with.

I am currently letting somebody barrow my camera, so I all I have right now is a cell phone camera. I will try to take a picture with that but I am sure it will not come out near as well as my mspaint picture.

Why would you say something so mean?

I have been reading alot about them and really like them. I just don't want to part with my Disco yet.
