I feel like a noob asking this but I can't figure this one out.

My tent has collapsing tent poles with the little bungee cord thingie inside. Two of the sections are stuck together. I've tried applying significant force to them to disconnect the two, but haven't had any success.

Any ideas on how to disconnect the two? Right now the prevailing theory is to apply heat. Don't know if this is a good idea or not. Thanks.

x2 on heat. I would think if you heat the area, the heat will cause the outside pole to expand a little, and give you a little more wiggle room to get the inside pole out.

Would the 2 sections stuck together be the last 2 sections at the end of the entire tent pole? If so, you might not be able to get enough slack in the chord. Try reassembling a few sections in the middle, and then dissassemble the end sections first.
