Stupid cylinder head oil leak question

The heads on my Disco I appear to be leaking oil out the front onto the front cover and on down the bottom of the vehicle. Could somebody post a picture of a pair of heads off the vehicle showing the oil passages so I have an idea of where it's coming from? I really don't feel like doing a head job on it, but I suppose I will need to. It is leaking only from the very front of the heads onto the front cover, nowhere else.

Here's the stupid question. Is there anyway to plug the oil leak? I don't think so, but wanted to ask before I took it apart. I feel really stupid right now, seeing as I had the engine out of the car a while ago to fix all the oil leaks. Unfortunately, there were so many oil leaks that I did not consider the possibility of the heads leaking oil. I have never seen an oil leak on any car from the heads. ...At least not with the volume that is coming out of this one. I'm talking about the head gasket, not the rocker cover gaskets.

Thanks.

Its common for the lower plenum gaskets to leak oil and it runs down the area where the cylinder heads meet the block and looks like a leaking cylinder head. Clean it up, and I mean clean it really well, then try and trace it down.

The copper o-ring is the oil galley that supplies the head (valve rocker assy) with oil. If I was a gambling man I would say it's the rubber gasket that secures your valley pan gasket that's leaking oil onto the front cover. You mentioned the engine was out awhile ago, was the valley pan rubber gasket one of the gaskets that was replaced?

I'm not familiar with any leak-plugging stuff, but there is the folk wisdom that conventional rather than synthetic oil may be less prone to leaks. You could also look at oil weights and use something heavier, though would rec. a board search as to what weights work best for what temps and are OK.

Hmm. Yes, I did replace that gasket as well. How much of the gasket sealant do you need to put on to prevent that from leaking? I was pretty sure that it wasn't going to leak after I was done. I was afraid that too much sealant might cause a problem if it did not stay attached to the inside of the gasket.

How about a suggestion as to the sealant to use? Thanks
