gonna have some big piles in the back yard though.

We had mules growing up, coyotes steer clear, I know a couple guys who swear by llamas to. Same aggressive territory defense in a smaller package...see if they have a bounty on them. Growing up it was like 12 bucks a hide.

Around here bounties run from $75-100 a coyote. It's done by land owners/hunts around here to keep the fox population up for hunting.

From a resident on the 1000 Block of Chantilly:
Our dogs were in the back and we heard one of our pugs barking like crazy. ..we ran down the stairs two see these HUGE coyotes in our backyard (approx 40lbs each). My husband ran into the back and grabbed a pipe to scare the closest coyote away. Eventually all 3 scampered off up the hill.

True city dweller - a 40lb dog is HUGE.

Get a bigger dog (although pugs are cool), or a subsonic .22

Get one of those air rifles that shoot 1600fps. They have been using them in FLA to shoot wild hogs. If it didn't kill him, it would send a message. Coyotes can get brave.

I have a mule, on the small side, but he is a pure 'yote killer, if they get too close.

Also have had Pyrenees and have a GP/Anatolian shepherd cross that was one of my livestock guards in TX. He's getting old now and I dont set him out there anymore, he's deserved a retirement. He & the GP used to work in a weird sort of concert with my two donks and killed many coyotes and stray dogs.

Oh and Kennith, I think a blinded coyoye is a good thing, it'll make it easier to kill him if he comes back....
