Two years later and you are just getting to it now? If your truck sat that entire time I suspect you might be best parting it out. I wouldn't buy a bunch of parts to try and resurrect a truck which sat that long and already has 215k on it.

nope. . .she gets started up and run regularly. I just cant drive too far before she overheats.[/QUOT

It's not the slipped liner that would cause this. It's cracks in the block behind the liner. The way I usually figure out its a cracked block is still having the problem after you put the head gaskets on it.kinda sucks. And it's why I would rather chase down every electrical problem in the shop than try to fix one of these. " I'm sorry I took the money" is not a fun place to be

Good to hear you've been taking care to operate in the mean time.

Doom & gloom replies......and of course there's never been a thread about other than D2 LRs needing HGs, leaky blocks or having a slipped liner.

Enjoy your wrenching.

so after highlighting how i have been keeping her started/running during the downtime until I get parts for the HG repair, I go out yesterday (hook up to my other car for a jump) and I have no start! Engine turns (slowly) . . . then a couple of clicks . . . dashboard clears and tries to turn again . . . repeat. Hoping this is an easy ID and fix! :)

Put a battery charger on it. Sometimes they get so dead they wont take a jump. If it wont take a charge it might be sulfated pretty bad from sitting to long.
