I know there are a lot of law enforcement guys on here so I'll pose a question for something that has been bothering me for a while now.

How is the best way to go about reporting suspicious activity that you think could be terrorism related? Especially if it is from a few months ago. It dates back to Halloween but I have pictures so they could possibly be used for facial recognition stuff.

It was bad enough that it has still stuck with me all these months and I wish I would have said something right there on the spot. My gut is usually dead on and my gut is all squirrely over this. Where do I go, who do I tell, without coming off like a total lunatic or being ignored.

Not an LEO, but I think if you took the pictures to the police station and told them the story, that might be a good start...

Or even just whisper. She's listening, that ugly old bat.

She also will monitor the reporter since it is only for safety.Anyone hear about the national terrorism threat created by websites seized what a joke can we say Nazi Police State.

I wouldn't report anything I wasn't 100% sure about to our unfriendly government now days since it may bring a invasive investigation on an innocent person.

Call local/regional FBI office. Be honest and transparent, say only what you saw, not what you think it might mean. Report facts and let the experts decide if it is a tip worth pursuing. I disagree with McGyver. If you did witness terrorist activity and you don't report it and something bad happens as a result you're going to feel awful about the situation. I consider it doing your duty as a responsible citizen of a free country to report criminal (or potentially criminal) activity. True, there are many examples of our government botching investigations (Bernard Madoff is a good one) but in matters of security I get the sense that the Feds take things pretty seriously. If your gut feeling is that strong then you should act on it. And maybe go see a therapist afterward.

report it to the police who may or may not find in interest pending your photos and facts, and or report it to the FBI who most definitely will take an interest. Make sure you dont just give the info to a gopher at the office(s) you contact.

I would have agreed with you a few years ago but today not so much since I firmly believe our country is going down a past path that isn't what this country was founded on.

When it comes to anything in life I have always said Two Wrongs Doesn't make a Right no matter the excuses used.

I did say if he was 100% sure I didn't say not to report especially not knowing the circumstances & it has been since OCT 2010.

Good Luck with what ever you decide to do.

Ok, here is the deal.

Harrahs Casino has a big bar in the middle of it called VooDoo Lounge. They were having a costume party, duh on Halloween. Everyone wore a costume, even the 400# guy carrying around his oxygen cart. Except for this group of about 8 ME looking men sitting at the table behind us. They just sat there all night long drinking coffee, not smiling, obviously not there for the Halloween party, they barely even talked to each other so it wasn't just a group of friends hanging out either. A few more showed up after about an hour so there was probably 12 of them by the end of the night. What makes it even more weird is they were taking pictures of theinside of the building. Not of people partying, not of silly costumes, just the building. They only took one picture of someone in a costume - dressed as a terrotist Gitmo detainee being towed around handcuffed by a girl in fatigues - they did take a picture of that guy as I'm sure it pissed them off. Then one guy stands up and comes over near me, holds his camera down low like he was trying to hide it, then rotated his body with the camera to keep it out of view and took a panoramic video of the building (he did this early on in the evening before a lot of people showed up so he wasnt taking video of people dancing and acting stupid).

The only communication any of these guys had with the rest of the crowd was to come up to my niece as we were leaving and demand that she give him her prom queen crown from her Carrie costume. She did just to get rid of him, then he went and sat back down with his peeps.

I'm not crazy, right? Doesn't that sound like they were doing recon?

I'm pretty sure if it were something that would have caught someone's attention the eye in the sky at Harrah's will have it all on tape. I'd like to think that Harrah's security would have a proper plan or procedure for suspicious people and know how to deal with it accordingly.

Just my opinion not advice.

Honestly I doubt you captured anything more than Harrah's cameras did which is why I said reporting to the not so friendly government agents wouldn't be done by me unless I was sure about a threat.

There is no war on terrorism now because the terrorist already won once Government decided to stomp all over our freedoms in the name of safety & the general public has followed for the most part willingly.
