Sway Bar Quick Disconnects

I'm thinking about going with quick disconnects for my D1.

Anyone have them, and are they worth it?

Do you have to remove the sway bar altogether or let them hang while off road?

I had a set from Aedo Fab for the front sway bar on my truck.. I never used them though and I just ended up taking the front sway bar off all together.

I made some disconnects. To me they are worth the effort as I really like having the sways connected when on the road. Where I live the roads are hilly and twisty plus I tow fairly often. If you live somewhere that is mostly flat/straight and do not tow much then you might be happy with just removing the sways.

See this post for details on how I did the disconnects:

Just yesterday I finished the job by welding some pieces of 3/4" tube to the frame. That way I can disconnect the sways, rotate the ends up, and secure them by sliding the pins into the tubes on the frame. Just letting them hang down is not a great option but you can easily tie them to the frame with wire, rope, or a bungee cord.

Can I ask where you found most of your material (Home Depo, Lowes, local hardware store?)

Thanks again for the help. Great design. Made a set last night. Found everything at Home Depo for $20.

When I disconnect mine I just have a velcro strap and wrap them up and connect it to the sway bar. Works well and I like having them connected while on the road. Mine are from RTE.
