OK this may be very obvious, but I don't get it. When it is nice outside (70-80 degrees) what setting can I put the ventilation system on to let outside air in (vent)?? If I turn the climate control off it still has hot air leaking out of the vents and starts to get warm inside. If I push the economy button, I lose my toupe with the fan blasting on high with hot air also.

So....how do we run cool but not airconditioned air in a disco II??

PS this is disco #2 and they both were the same way....

Also, the intake for the vent is just above the engine compartment, so you're not ever getting cool air out of them since the air coming out of the engine compartment is hot as hell.

May as well get used to turning the ventilation control unit off and opening the windows, or get used to running A/C at a higher temp.

There's a seal that prevents engine air from coming out the back of the hood - it all goes down under the floor. But sunshine & engine heat coming thru the hood will warm the air as it comes across it.

I think you can turn the system off & then hit the fan speed to just pull in outside air, but check the manual.

I've never been able to suck in cool air ever. It's always been hot air, so I've become accustomed to closing the vents using "recycle" powering down the AC system, and rolling down the windows.

I may be crazy but I noticed this one time in my wife's D2 when some really hot air was coming through the vents. I think I turned on the A/C, set the temp to the lowest setting and turned it back off. This obviously didn't let in cold air but I think it made the air coming in not nearly as hot as it was. Then again I could just be totally wrong :)
