Any idea what would make a tach inncorrect?
The tach in my 95 D1 and reads about 15% faster than the engine is running. The truck had a under hood fire before I bought it and I had to replace the wiring harness, alternator, dist., and any thing else that could burn. Since I got the truck running it has never been right.
The only disadvatage I see is not knowing the true RPM. Unless someone knows of something this could have an effect on?
On the plus side, passengers can't believe it when the tach climbs past 6 and bottoms out on the dash just before the one two shift.
