Tail light / blinker issues

Okay, I've tried to search for this and checked some suggested ideas but still a problem persists.

Details about my Rover: it is a 02 with a safari gard rear bumper installed by previous owner. It has a trailer harness and the blinkers are wired into the rear tail lights and share a bulb with the blinkers (brake lights and blinkers light from the same spot in the tail light). There seems to be 2 converters hooked up on each tail light. The converters bring the wires from 2 down to 1 and then to the tail light. One converter controls the tail light and one controls the brake/blinker light.

Here is what is going on: on the left/drivers side, the brake/blinker light - the brake light seems to work like normal when the pedal is pressed. The blinker only works when the brake light is pressed and it blinks fast. The blinker does not wake of the brake is not pressed. On the passenger side, the blinker works when activated but blinks fast. And when the brake is pressed it stops working all together (no brake or blinker). So they seem to act the opposite of each other.

Any suggestions on where to start looking? I swapped around the converter pieces and the same happens so I don't think it is them. And all fuses are fine. The problem seemed to develop over time slowly. But not it is like this all the time.

Thanks for the help!!!

Sounds like the PO kind of fucked up the wiring. D2's are a bitch to get right when wiring in a trailer connector. I did a 5 blade RV connector with brake controller and it took me the better part of a day to run all the wiring and make all the connections correctly.
My advice would be to look at the RAVE wiring diagram and compare to what you have and go from there. I've read that those converters can be hit or miss with D2's.
