I went wheeling the other day and realized that night my tail lights n dash lights were out, not sure if it was from all the rough riding or a fluke. . this happened several years ago as well but it was the big 30 A fuse under the hood I believe, this time its not. . I know the dash lights go out to let you know about the tailights but where all should I go about looking to solve this predicament. (glove box light is out, heard somewhere about some ground in there causes them to go out? but any other ideas if thats not it????
Thanks guys

I had this on my '95. turned out to be where the wiring went under the frame into rear bumper on the passenger side it had chaffed through. I had replaced the fuse, it worked fine until I drove a short distance and the vibration caused contact and it grounded out. Got out the manual and started looking at the wiring. Repaired the wire and added protection, no problems since. Hope that helps

replaced the switch to no avail and I am unable to locate any wear or groundage of the wires leading to the lights. . ughh. . . what else could it be?

I know you said you replaced the switch, but i had this happen to me about 2 weeks ago. Same thing, damn tail lights and dash lights went out. I went and bought a can of electrical contact cleaner....and sprayed the hell out of the headlight switch. Really work it in there, both where it connects to the wheel and even in between the cracks in the plastic, and work the switch back and forth while applying liberal amounts of cleaner....after about 2 minutes, i was back in business and been working ever since.

Was the replacement switch new or used?.... because the switches all seem to go after a certain amount of time.
