I have my money saved up, and am going to order a set on Monday from National tire and Wheel (819 shipped for a set of 5). Does anyone have them that has any complaints or better suggestions for around the same price?

These are going on a 2" Rovertym lifted D2. I think I am also going to add 1" spacers soon as well.

Thanks!

Do you have sliders? They may rub in a turn whilst flexing, but that isn't too bad. If it is annoying then you can always cut the sliders or get extended radius arms. Great tire btw. That will probably be my next. Currently I'm running the TSL radials (second set).

Cheers,

Mike

I have wheeled several times and never rub and at full flex I do not rub, but it's close ;) . I do run both sways however. To be honest with you, If you are going to be running them everyday get the SSR's and a little smaller (maybe the 265's?) or BFG's as you will go crazy if you do a lot of driving on them. The 34x10.50x16 actually measure out to about 32.8" tall. I just put mine on when I go on wheeling trips since I don't do much "random" wheeling. I run 285/60/18 AT's day to day. Also, I HIGHLY doubt that these would work if you have the stock front bumper unless you do some major cutting.

Surf: I just pm'd you info on who/where to get those tires for a little cheaper as well
:patriot:

The run small. More like a 33 as mentioned...

And thanks Lee. I got the pm. Prices have jumped quite a bit lately! It's a hair over 700 for them shipped now through that foothill company.

damn...I found mine off a guy on pirate. If you keep an eye out on ebay and craigslist as well as other jeep forums and stuff you will be able to find a good set for about 200-400. Good Luck! Post up some pictures when you get them mounted and let me know if you can get them balanced. I couldn't find a tire shop that could do it in auburn.

I've been looking for a used set for months... just isn't working out.

I think I am going to go with the air soft pellet deal.... They will be a DD tire, but I am going to have a work truck to driver soon, so I won't really have to drive the disco to awful much.

I just ordered the tires about 5 minutes ago through National Tire and Wheel. :)

How did you go about your spare tire situation? I was going to order a 5th as a spare, but I guess I am going to just find an old worn out 33x10.50 to have as a spare and maybe keep a tire cover on it. RTE adapter or did you modify your stock carrier?

Honestly, even daily driving on bias ply swampers isnt that bad if you have half a sack. Guess it comes down to how "refined" your truck is.

I am going to just find an old worn out 33x10.50 to have as a spare

Good luck there, seriously, we just put a set of those on a Grand Cherokee and after looking, decided to order a 5th new one for the spare. Well it still hasnt come in either.

Well, I guess I could look for a 33x12.50 to, or just something close in size. I guess I could put the off size tire on whateer has the most clearance.. be it front or rear. I may end up picking up one later after I have my truck modded a bit and am starting to take it offroad...

Still on the mod list before I wheel it is some engine maintenance, HD axle shafts, gas tank skid, diff guards, and bumpers...

Push come to shove, if I have to use a way off size tire, and just remove a DS and lock the CDL, I guess it's just what I will have to do.

I would highly advise you to get a fifth one and then keep it in the rotation. This is especially pertinent with a Detroit and or TT. Off by a few mm's and you are in for some serious trouble there.

if you do alot of daily street driving you'll probably have kidney failure in the first year of running them..haha

i ran a set of 33x13.50 LTBs on my 1st gen 4runner and since it is a bias ply tire i had to get used to the bouncey warm up times, and it sounded like a airplane going down the highway.

off road.....one of the best tires ive even ran

don't get me wrong, I love to hear them whine down the road. I have some 8 shot in all of mine but they still rattle the whole car around 35-40 and then up around 60+ since they aren't balanced. For my next set I will probably get the SSR's since they ride better down the road. It was a pain in the ass to carry four tires/wheels to SAE this year, but if you do most of your wheeling locally and don't do much interstate driving on them then you will be fine.

For the spare I just flipped the tire carrier, but they barley squeeze on there on the steelies. If you are putting them on alloys, or even on steelies I would get a tire re-location deal. The spare in the picture is a friend of mines and I just had it for the weekend since he didn't bring his truck, but I don't put more than 50-100 miles on them at a time. Since they are DD tires I would rotate the spare in the mix as often as you can.

Got the LTB's today...

Unmounted they measure a little under 33" (~32.75)

Anyone used Walmart to get tires mounted?

I would NOT use wal-mart- a warehouse club in a high construction area would be more practiced in balancing heavy tires of that size.

My buddy got some 35" bfg MT's mounted at wally world and his yukon rides smooth. I know the bfg's a little more consistent than the swampers though...
