You can buy a replacement bearing from most bearing suppliers Are a standard size and readily available size. Buy two and carry a second one as a spare You can knock out quite easily. I have drilled a small hole in bracket so that I can knock damaged bearing out from back. Can tap in new one very easily if it seizes

Check the pulley carefully to make sure you don't have any hairline cracks. When my bearing went, I had to replace the whole damn thing (over $200) 'cause the pulley was cracked.

L/R Parsippany was great about it though. They sent a driver with the part to a parking lot in Jersey City where I had the truck (at least 40 miles) so I coul put it on and did not chage me anything for delivery.

Thanks to all for your replies!! My pulley is cracked but thought I'd share that I found out that Dayco makes a tensioner and pulley for my '95 Disco. Tensioner part #- 89289 and the pulley is 89006. Will find out this pm it they work!! Go to www.dayco.com and click on application guide to see what would work for other Landies and Rangies. Advance Auto Parts priced my tensioner around $90. Sure beats dealer's $260.

Richard,

Make sure that Advance quoted you the right part. The D2 part is much cheaper than the D1

Thanks for the heads up about the pulley. I surfed around trying to find an alternative to the dealer and went to Dayco.com where I found the part # before calling Advance Auto. I prey that it will work as the pulley is a hair larger than the stock. On the Dayco website, it would list tensioners for 94,95, 00 but not for 96 97 98... weird. The pulley was only 16 and the tensioner with everything was around 90.
