Is there any roof tent that will fit a high SD rack?

Everybody seems to be going to the flat racks for that.
Ideas or products anybody has installed or know about?

carlos...you can stop by and check mine out sometime

WOAH! Thom, you have a roof tent on a SD?
I've never seen it! Do you ever use it?
I'll have to drive up. I've been wanting to do it, but I thought the only one that fits well is into a flat Hannibal rack or similar.

I just recently got one of these and i know other guys use them. Mine is the oversized version. I actually haven't had time to try it out up there but i know the original fits fine

i was looking at these at cabelas the other day. OK i might be super stupid, but are you saying this works well on the SD Rack or are you suggesting its good if you want to get off the ground

Here is a better one that shows how it fitted.

I trimmed the side rail of the SD rack to allow it to be mounted flush on the upper deck and used 1.5" x 1.5" x the width of the rack piece of wood painted black to level the front where the rack drops down.

I attached the tent with rubber coated pipe hangers from the area ace hardware store. The tent is on there really well and dosent make any noise as your bouncing down tough trails or bumpy roads.

The Moombasa tent is one of the cheapies that was out there so at some point I will have to deal with the masonite base. My plan at that point is simply to replace it with sheets of .125 UHMWHDPE sheets. they are about $50 in the size I will need so that and $20 worth of pop rivets will deal with the one short coming the tent has.

The tent fits the basket like it was made for it and there is room for 3 adults and gear in it when its open. It has worked perfect for my family and we have camped in it in spring, summer, fall and once in the winter.

we also have piled it with gear on top on a number of trips without any issues.

Like said before i've seen them on multiple trucks on here, i just haven't tried to mount mine yet. Alot cheaper way to go then that of Easy Awn or something of that effect. I think mine, being the oversized version, came to 145$ with change. including the rain fly
