once again i felt like they were calling things a bit too tight. some of these hooking and interference calls are hard to understand at all.
it's one thing to keep the game from getting out of control, but that was not the case.
they gotta let em play the game.
regardless it was a great game, but hard to see the game end like that.

when i was a kid in the early 80s everyone was using Titans. they were super flexy and were great for forwards and wrist/snap shots. but too much flex for shots from the point in my opinion.
i had an Easton i bought back in 1988 and still have it. just a little short, so stopped using it. alot different than the new stuff i know.
the Sherwoods were nice a nice combo.......not too stiff and not too flexy, but the heal of the blades wear out a bit early.
i am sure i could not afford one of those sticks anyhow.......i usually pay under $25 for a stick. then again i am just a a chump playing in adult leagues now. haha.
pretty amazing to the see the energy involved in a hard slapshot. there is a lot of flex going on regardless of the stick.

My go-to was an Easton aluminum with a titan blade...Forsberg curve. I liked the feel of the Sherwoods, but they were a bit too rubbery for my taste. I played with a few Lemieux Nike models, and that is a close second to my Easton. Good rigidity, nice feel (especially on the blade), and a good curve. For backhand work, I never found a curve as perfect as Lindros': nearly stick-straight, with a slight curve at the bottom of the toe.

One of the most beautiful things I ever saw was a slow-motion clip of a Brett Hull one-timer: his shot could move you to tears. The stick had about a 30 degree bend in it as he made contact with the puck...

GREAT GAME FOR THE OIL! Way to go, keepin hope alive. Even a PP goal! Still praying for Game 7! :D

I actually like the Bauer sticks a lot. The same model as the one Lindros uses. Fairly light for a wood stick, nice weight and decent stiffness. Good feel for the puck. Plus I like the way the blade is shaped right from teh factory. Still have a couple of them in my basement somewhere.

OK...I was wrong! I said if we could get one game in ED we would take the CUP. BUT after the last two games I can see that Edmonton has beaten us down physically and mentally. IF your an Oilers fan you gotta' love it but as for the Canes maybe next year!

That was an awesome game for the Oil. Been waiting for them to finally play a full game of skating hard and hitting hard. Momentum seems to be on their side or they're starting to wear the Canes down.

That was a gutsy play by Markkanen to charge the puck. Scared the daylights out of me but he seems to have some confidence right now. Good for him.

Good to see Erik Cole back but I'm not sure I'd take that kind of risk if I were him. The consequences can be pretty serious. He's a good player. I'd hate to see his career cut short like Eric Lindros's because he came back too soon.

GO BOYS! BRING THE CUP HOME!

Yeah that would suck....Lindros is probably my favorite player of all time....The canes were simply outplayed tonight and if they expect us Carolinians to enjoy a Stanley Cup they better figure out how to play good quality hockey because for the past 2 games they have played like shit.....

Congratulations Carolina. Well fought series.

Cam Ward better win the Conn Smyth.

Edmonton Oilers, you guys played UNBELIEVABLY. Edmonton/Canada is proud of you. We'll be back next year.

Great series. Edmonton showed a lot of character, from the early goings in this series losing Roloson all the way to forcing a Game 7 down 3 games to 1. Both teams matched up extremely well and both teams matched each other skate-for-skate in effort. I know the ratings won't show it, but this was a big win for the new NHL: two fast young hockey teams from smaller markets that got to the finals on good old fashioned hard work. Great hockey, great series.

In the end it came down to special teams and goaltending. Edmonton had their chances in Game 7 on the PP, but just couldn't find the back of the net. I fault the Edmonton coaching staff quite a bit for relying on shots almost exclusively from the point through traffic as that strategy was clearly not working against Carolina. Jussi Markannen stepped up in a tough situation and performed much better than expected, but Cam Ward was just a little bit better able to make the key saves at key times. Good call on the Conn Smythe (MVP), but you could have made just a strong a case for Rod Brind'Amour: he was the 'Canes heart and soul throughout the post-season.

Congrats to Carolina. Even though I was pulling for Edmonton, I am not dissapointed at all to see this one go the other way.
