the Stock bumper is not a recovery/tow point

Yeah... so that's what I found out on a trail yesterday. My bumper was damaged from the old lady hitting me and the stock recovery point was also destroyed in the accident. So I wasn't particularly concerned with damaging the bumper.

There was a log blocking part of the trail that made it too narrow for my disco to fit. I tried to move it a little to one side or the other. The trail was too narrow to turn around so I could use my hitch, so I wrapped a chain around the bumper and the log and backed up. Bad idea....

Mistake #1- Wheeling on an unfamiliar trail.
Mistake #2- wheeling alone. I didn't have a spotter to tell me I was bending my bumper
Mistake #3- not having a sufficient recovery point on the front

All-in-all it was a learning experience, lol.
