Things Maybe Someone Can Help Me Understand

The pin in the shackle would never come loose in my type set-up. There is too much tension on it. Even if someone wanted to steal my shackle I doubt they could get it loose with pliers.

Well it looks like we have boiled it down to cosmetics.

You have a clevis on the front with a bolt that " magically" will never come loose :p

I have the thimble because Im not strong enough to tighten the pin

So if you are weak like me and dont want a shackle the Factor link is a better choice when compared to the safety thimble.

Fuck a thimble! A good hook is faster. I've spent over 6 years with two different driver training companies and have yet to see a hook or thimble fail. We usually don't suffer poor equipment but rather the improper use of it.

So what you are saying is you cant hold down a job but you want us to take your advice.

When you can drink a margarita and make it to work the next day with out looking like a bag of dog assholes we will talk. Until then try and keep a steady job and stop puking in rental cars. ;)

I never puked in the rental car!

You're just jealous your talents as an interviewer are sub-par and susceptible to heavy drinking and poor choice of subject matter!

Drive your rig in the rocks for a while with the nuts pointed down and then try and take them off to clean/grease the rollers. It hurts nothing to point them up but helps to protect the threads.

This guy could have used the pins and clips but some bumpers (like the ARB) require the use of bolts as the pins are not long enough.

Can someone explain to me why it's so common for folks to put their fairleads on up-side-down? Is this just a Rover-thing? Or do Jeepers do this too? If you just stop for a second, pay attention to what you're doing and think, it's pretty obvious there is a top and a bottom to a roller fairlead.

i dont understand sticker bombing..
I knew a couple of people in Vermont who used bumper stickers to hold their rusted out car bodies together. Also to pass inspection as rust holes were ok, but no sharp edges.
