Well not to this extreme, but I was a big believer in momentum and picking a line and going. These vids with a spotter out front, pointing this direction and then that.. It may make good video, looks good on the 'tube. Everyone wants to be so "technical". If I make this rocket science and I can do it I must be a rocket scientist. There seems to be, to me, a big desire to make things overly complicated. I like the "keep it simple stupid" approach to off-roading, or anything else in life.

That video is that moron youtuber who destroys shit for youtube watchers and money. But good for him, he makes a shit-ton of money.

That being said, I've neve been much for spotters either. All these lame-ass videos of people inching over rocks with 5 separate videographers and some proud moron yelling "Driver" "Passenger" as if they hold the keys to the kingdom. Shut up and drive you idiots. The guy that just has to be the spotter is the same punk who always blurted out "I get to be the red lion" when you wanted to play Voltron as a kid.

I cant stand that kid. Like Blue said, good for him and the money he makes, but man I can't stand destroying things for no good reason.

I'm barely a novice rock crawler but I too get annoyed by spotters in videos. Maybe it's Monday morning quarterbacking but they often seem to put the driver in a worse position than if the driver followed their gut.

I had no idea he was a YouTuber, just happened across the vid. Obviously I wouldn't treat my truck like that, unless maybe my only two options were coming up the trail being stopped every few feet by a guy pointing every which way, or like the tubdude, Then I guess I might choose the "hold my beer" method.
