Gem, those wheels Justin has are 17x8's IIRC. The ones he sells. I really like that silver'ish color, just wouldn't look good on my truck. I'm sure he'll chime in.

if it matters I'm running my 37's on a 16x7" rim with 4.25" of back spacing

Gem, get some DIY beadlocks from ballistic. they add 1"ish to the width of the rim (outiside).

Thanks Kyle
thats a fun idea, but Beadlocks and hwy drving sounds scary from a balance persepctive

true. ive never run beadlocks.
Justins are custom iirc. he sells them though.

you are on 285's now right? a 315 on a 7" wide rim would squeeze it a little narrower, that with a 1"ish wheel spacer should get you some turning back.

yep...2" spacers in the front only. And for wheel balance I'm using dynabeads and can do 75mph with my 37's with zero vibrations.
I have a set of diy beadlocks, just have to get them powercoated...

Not to mention that in most states they are illegal for highway use. If you have an active inspection system or state troopers, you might want to run them on a trail set of tires and regulars for highway use. A buddy of mine got a huge ticket and one of those fix immediately and prove at court that it was fixed tickets in school. Drove past a trooper, not speeding or anything, and he was pulled.

You 100% wrong on the beadlocks being illegal for highway use. If he did, he's one of the only guy's to get that type of ticket. There is thread over on Pirate thats been running for like five years with a reward to show where it's illegal. How can a cop tell the difference between a fake beadlock and a real one. linky:

http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=363606&highlight=beadlocks+illegal

And somebody better tell all the guy's running beadlocks on all the street trucks that I just saw at SEMA. Literally over a 100 trucks running beadlocks not fake ones...

Im a licenced virginia safety inspector, I hold an unlimited licence meaning I can inspect anything from a motorcycle to a big rig including trailers and semis.
I have been thru the inspectors manual several times, looking for a paragraph or a chapter detailing where it may fail inspection if a vehicle is presented with bead locks.
I have not found a response negative or positive.
on the heavy duty side of the manual, it states and explains that there should not be welding or any repairs done to a heavy duty wheel (commercial vehicle 26,001 gvw or more including buses), if such is found it shoud be rejected.
of course it states that all road legal wheels and tires shall bear a "dot and or sae" stamp in addition to fmvss approval.

yep...and here's a pic of a dot stamped rim (stolen from the pirate thread), so how can it be legal with no center. Thanks for posting up, good to hear from the other side:victory:
