Anybody heard of this fix for shuttle valve solenoid? I recently replaced mine and didn't think it was difficult or overly expensive for the part. I'm just curious if this works.

Following was copied and pasted from a comment on facebook disco group.

Drill 3/8 hole in bottom of failed shuttle value
Cut connector off shuttle value
Run one wire to ground
Disconnect abs module connector
Cut yellow wire with green tracer
Connect second wire from failed shuttle value to body side of yellow/green wire
🙌 no more 3 amigos for shuttle value.
System will still operate and set faults for wheel speed sensors if/when they fail.

Make sure you test the shuttle valve switches themselves, as they fail frequently. IIRC, the resistance with neither pressed is roughly 3 ohms, one pressed is 2 ohms, and both pressed is 1 ohm.

And be alert for any brake fluid that may have leaked past the seals and into the switches, as described in the Option B writeup.

Since we're on this topic of leaking fluid, I recently replaced my ABS module because it was leaking out of one of the valve caps on top. The two discs held down by allen head screws, the rear of the two was weeping fluid.

Once I had replacement module installed and road tested I started to dissect the old module. I removed the rear valve cover and concluded an inner seal must have failed because the valve covers aren't sealed themselves. My assumption is there shouldn't be fluid under there anyway. At that point I stopped and benched it for another day.
