I am confused, do you mean the link being
http://www.landroverclubvi.com/abs-mod.html?

I meant to it to be short for ABS Modulator. It is under the Repair section on my site as I think it is more of a repair than a mod. Even though it is a "modification" to the unit and an update/improvement to the factory design.

but as said before, make sure that is your problem first.

Yup, that's the one I meant, your "option B". Seems too simple and nice not to try if that's still my issue, and I'm pretty sure it is.

Well, I just received a Faultmate MSV-2 Extreme in the mail. I like it. A lot.:D

It's worth every penny I paid for it, even if the exchange rate was a bit rough on me.

Isn't that locked to one VIN?

It doesn't have to be. Mine is, though. I can upgrade if I get another vehicle. Didn't see the point in having the capability until I needed it. Right now, I've only got one Rover.

It's all got to do with the software that's unlocked. It's a lot like a map program. It's all in there, but you can only use what you unlock. The difference is, instead of maps, you are unlocking communications with vehicle systems. You can purchase it with a license to unlock everything on your vehicle for what I consider a very fair price, or, you can pay a bit more for other vehicles.

I purchased the single vehicle software license. It's not anything like a subscription service, though. Once you get it, you have it for good. If you need more later, you can get more.

It seems complicated as you do it, but once you wrap your brain around how it all works, it makes perfect sense. You never have to bother with them again, if you don't want to, but they do release frequent updates and new features that you have full access to, if you want it.

You get that license, and you get all the updates you want. As for a single vehicle, if it comes to new computers in it some day, you will be accommodated, as far as I can tell.

Their support program has been outstanding so far for me, and it seems they are right on top of suggestions and any issues people uncover.

You never have to be tied to the company, once it's set up, and you aren't tied to the dealer anymore, either. You go through the nonsense first, and then they don't have to put a leash on you. It's complicated early, so it can be simple later.

I asked a lot of complex questions before I bought it, and they provided incredibly detailed answers, written well enough to actually answer the questions. It seems like all of my concerns had already been considered, no matter how obsessive they seemed.

If you have questions about it, they seem happy to provide them. The one thing I'll suggest is to spring for both the AC adapter and the longer, heavy duty OBDII lead. If you have the cash, the Bluetooth connection would be nice for basic work. I'll probably order that soon.

They have it laid out so you can have as much capability as you want, and not pay for things you aren't using.

Cheers,
