I have not seen anyone here mention what I believe to be the gremlin behind most IACV and TPS woes. In my frustrating experience with my 96 DI, I have discovered that the IACV should be installed with a mirror/flashlight combo shoved into the throat of the throttle opposite the IACV. Obviously you need to have the stepper loosely installed and plugged in as well. I believe this is because of a warped plenum body. And I also believe this to be because of the pre-heater plate baking it from underneath. If you overheated, you may also need to re-install or replace the stepper (IACV). I know of that which I speak.
VENI VIDI VICI.
That is to say, I know it worked on my rig, and I would bet that this is why many of us are at wits end with idle problems. Also, The TPS mounting holes should be drilled and slotted. Do Not Go to the stealership for testbook! SLOT THE TPS HOLES AND MOUNT THE IACV WITH A MIRROR!
