I guess you could replace the timing chain and gears. They are not very expensive. New front covers are $500. The front cover is also the oil pump. What damage did you do exactly?

well i can thank will tillery for helping me out.. has a used cover he is selling me.. thank god with that new price around $500. going to go ahead and replace timing chain and gears.. how did i break it?? not really sure... had the leak, found it was around oil pressure switch.. replaced switch and it was still leaking.. unscrewed new switch and half of the threaded part on cover just broke off... not sure if it was some kind of stress crack in the threads or what.. just glad i caught it while disco was at home..

you're a heartbeat away from replacing the cam.... upper intake, valve covers, rockers off - radiator out, front plastics off, gently rotate ac condenser up - slide cam out when gears are off...

i've heard about a performance isky cam for d2's... maybe someone will chime in.
