Got a leak in the power steering line that goes from the pump to the steering box...which goes under the front of the car.

How much of a PITA is this to replace. Looks like the ace and ac have to come out.. does the radiator and/or condensor need to be moved/removed?

If you follow the workshop manual I'm pretty sure it tells you to pull the radiator, but if you take out the inner fender you can pull it out from the side.

Paul,

I did mine a few years ago, As I recall I just moved the ACE pump and AC to the side. I didn't have to take them out. And as someone mentioned, there is a plastic inner fender you can remove to give you more access.

Good luck!

Shouldn't you be wrenching on an MG instead? lol

Nothing to wrench on the Bs.. they are the most reliable cars in my fleet.. my audi has some turbo issue going on, rear defroster issue... the rover has this problem, tapping under the hood, rear door hindges are rusted.... my truck needs brakes and brake lines, windsheild leak....

The MGB and GT are going great. in the last 12 months only had one repair between them - oil pump on the roadster.. other than that.. just LOFs !

So you don't have to take the radiator(s) out to do this PAS line? THats good.. Already replaced the PS pump, so i know the ace and ac will move out of the way just fine..This just looked a bit tough to do on the surface.

we tried to jury rig the rusted line with a double clamped fuel injector hose.. but the pressure blew right through it.

Thanks again!

got it in... taking that fender cover off was key. Made life a lot easier.

Only snag was trying to get the 2 mounts through the lil hole by the condensor. Ended up taking them off and putting them on after the pipe was snaked in.
