My wife drives a '03 Disco II SE7. We need to get new tires here in late Sept. We have the 18" rims. This vehicle is stock and used for getting groceries and hallin the kids around. I live in Nebraska so we have some pretty nasty winters at times. Looking for a good all weather tire. Any recomendations on brand and size? Not sure how agressive to get them etc...

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm running Bridgestone Dueler AT's on my '00 Disco II. They have worn excellent and are surprisingly good off road.

I've had stock sized Nitto Terra Grappler's for about a year now. Quite on road, good off road and good in snow/slush

Frankie...am running std size 255/55/18s. Avon Tech STs are made by Cooper Tire who own Avon...an older British brand, ...:)
They are a T rated tire, but do have the XL sidewall rating that's advisable for the Disco 2. At $109.00 a piece they are an absolute steal. I have done about 7500 miles on them including last winter here in NY...they are awesome...VERY quiet on the road with terrific feel, and after 7500 miles show practically zero wear. HIGHLY recommend for street use.

I have the Nittos also. They work well on road and ok off road. They are good in snow and aren't too loud. I think the BFG AT may have stiffer sidewalls.

Hi,
I use Pirelli Scorpion ATRs on mine and they have been good in the snow lately. They don't mind the weight of these trucks unlike some of the other brands. Plenty of people I know have come to grief with cheaper tyres.
Ya pays for what ya gets

Anyone have a photo of the Nitto Terra Grappler AT's or the Avon Tech ST's on their Rovers?

I am mainly curious what the NItto terras look like on.

Thanks!

X2 on the Nittos. Haven't seen them in snow.. but they grip real well in all the rain we get down here.

+1 on the Avon STs... very quiet... great for road / daily driving use. I also have them mounted on 18s.

How are they in the snow?
