Tire pressure gauges

While going through and organizing my tools...I've come across a scary number of tire pressure gauges... Basically bought another when it seemed unrelaiable. Testing the ones I have now, they are all over the place. They are many different "brands". But lets face it, one manufacturer in a far off country probably makes gauges for many different brands.

I could take the two "best" or closest brands and dump the rest. But the experience raises the issue. Who makes a gauge that lasts and actually reports accurate readings?

Its not like this is new technology or rocket science. People have been putting air into tires since Mr Dunlop invented the pneumatic tire in 1888.

Most professional mechanics have been forced into electronic pressure guages because of the Tire Pressure Monitoring on all the new vehicles. If your gauge isn't accurate cars come back with the tire light on. If your talking about the stick type guages our dads kept in the glove box they probably do have a shelf life due to the seals inside, and maybe the mechanism binding.

Still have a few of those as well and yes, the mechanism binds making them worthless.
I’m just using the digital readout on the portable tire pump. At least its close. 😁
