I've never gone fast enough in my disco to worry about push. I keep them all at 55psi... But I get your point!

55 PSI ?? Is your Disco heavily loaded or do you just like a very firm ride?

Ok, maybe the type of tyres require these pressure levels...

just wondering because I pump them to 32 PSI and works quite well (Good year Wrangler ATR 245/70 16)

you better not be using what is listed on the tire sidewall...... that is MAX pressure, as in fully loaded on a hiway.... read the book or look on the drivers door/door jamb

I had same question bothering me. What PSI. I have 245/75x16 and max PSI on tire's is 44PSI.
90% of all off rode is on a hard prery type land.
I have now 38 PSI front and back.

Rear end is heavier.

As for tire pressure, I go by what the side of the door generally says give or take a few pounds depending on the brand of the tire. The other way to determine is do a chalk test on your tires.

42 all the way around

You ain't in a disco Phillip. The D90 I can see. The Hunter I can maybe see, but a disco is ass heavy hence the differential. In my DII with 34" swampers I run 50 in the back and 35 in the front. Works like a charm. Of course I run about 8 off road:D

Hey, Sorry to bring back an old thread, I've been doing a lot of searching on tire wear lately. And there's something that bugging me...
How is the ass end of a Discovery heavier than the front end with the engine in it? Even with a full tank of gas my 98 d1 has only an extra 184 lbs. in the back. (23 gallon tank 8 lbs per gallon)
Help me understand!

I run 36lbs all around after a chalk test on mine. Tire pressure may vary based on manufactor and what the tire is designed for. Kind of like shoes. I wear 11.5 in New Balance, but 13 in Salomon.
And if you want to know what the weight distribution is on your Rover, next time you pass a truck stop or weight station that is not busy, stop in and weigh in.
