Hello all. New to this forum, and was directed here by the d-90.com buys, so thanks for hosting. Did some tire searching but could not find anything. Anyone have a recommendation for a good all terrain tire for my truck. It is an 04 with the 18 inch rims. i am ok going slightly larger than the factory tires. I would love to find the BFG AT tire but I underestand they don't make a tire that size. Thanks.

General Grabbers AT2 are available in the stock 255/55 18 size and are pretty good AT tires.

If you want to keep the 18's Nitto Terra Grappler AT's also come in the 255/55R18 and are pretty good tires.. You can also get them in around a 31 I think if you want to go a little bigger then stock... I ran the 255/55R18 size on my d2 when it was stock before switching to 16" rims, I got about 40K out of them. I have them in 285/75R16 for street tires on my truck now and expect to get about the same life out of them... They are good on road and in the rain. Off road they are pretty good for AT's...

You can probably find some 16's pretty cheap and then you can get pretty much any tire in 245/75R16 which fits on a stock d2 fine...

I own a 04 Disco. I have 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grappler AT's for over two years. Best tires I've ever owned. Put more than 36K on them and still almost new with alot of tread. The size is about 31.5 inches compared to the stock tire size which is 29". Also about 1 inch wider than stock. Fit perfect with no trimming on stock height. I later added a 2 inch lift. Definitely a beefer, tougher and nicer looking tire. Very low highway noise. Tons of traction in the snow.

I just put on 255/60/18 Terra Grapplers on christmas eve. So far they've seen 1200 miles and at least 3 or 400 of them were on some gnarly hard-packed highways. Most of the reviews I read prior to purchase said they were moderate on snow, but I think they're fantastic. I've also had them out in desert mud a few times in the last couple weeks and they clean out better than I thought they would too.

x4 on Nittos, had them on the 04 for 30,000 miles with light to medium off-roading/snow/ice and highway all done well.

Put on Hankook Dynapro ATm's in a 265x65x18 on my stock DII early this year and happy with them. Pretty quiet on the street and awesome in the snow. Not a lot of offroad on them yet. Paid around $700 installed.

Nitto TG's 255/55R18. This is my second set first set got about 40k miles. They worked well in the snow on 95 just before Christmas. Lokced the diff and only thing that slowed us down was traffic. Wife was driving when the snow came down and she felt very confident. She had never driven in snow and now likes the Disco even more.

I went with the General Grabber AT2 s in a 255/60-18. so far very happy ride great. not as noisy as you would think. Just my .02 but I looked at the Nittos TGs as well and the general just seemed more all terrain. The tire guy agreed as well. Plus the generals are studdable.

Unfortunately the Generals are more expensive. I would have gone that route, but I got 5 TGs for the price of 4 Grabbers.
