Could somebody clue me in.....On a DII install of a TJM is there any cutting involved or is it pretty straight forward. I drove my rig right through a support on a garage a friend was building. The upside:....I get rid of my factory bling guard (It took a good lick)....Downside: 1,200 damage to garage / house.

Thanks

Bummer on the garage, but congrats on getting rid of the ole bling guard. The TJM is very straight forward and easy to install. You should be able to do it yourself, but it helps to have someone help lift it. I have done one on and off by myself by laying on my back and lifting the bar with my feet and lining up the bolts. The biggest thing is just pulling your old stuff off. Save the wheel well plastic pieces and fasteners. If you are planning on putting a winch on there, then make sure to put the winch tray in first. If you do it later you will have to remove the bumper, still not hard. Good luck and if you get in a jam just post and someone here will surely be able to help.

Cheers,

Mike

It's a simple installation- I did two last Saturday before lunch. The winch tray sometimes has to be whacked a bit with a substantial chunk of wood or something- but if it's just the bumper it's a total cake install.

Thanks for the input....I thought it was the case. The body shop I took the rig to get the hood repaired told me there was extensive cutting to install the TJM.

Thanks

Find another body shop. Those guys don't have a clue.

it's extremely easy as long as you have a helper :) It's possible without one, but not very fun! I didn't even use a floor jack or anything to lift it, just rested it against my legs while trying to get the bolts in hah.
