What's even worse is the local dealership would bend over backwards for this guy and in turn give me the cold shoulder.

But, he's taken it off-road, right? It's on grass right there!

Well.

As far as bling wheels go, those aren't a bad shape for the Range Rover. They should be one size smaller, with a larger profile tire, to balance with the meaty shoulderline of the truck. As well, I think they should be gunmetal grey powdercoated, instead of chrome, ala the LE Discoveries. It would keep them from sticking out like that.

Hey, at least it doesn't look completely awful. It may be a silly use for a Rover, but at least it doesn't look as bad as some out there. The shape seems to work with the body lines.

That will never look as proper as a set of mud tires, but they guy didn't do half bad. Follow my instructions above and they could look factory.

Still, not my cup of tea.

Cheers,

Kennith

Beleive it or not my local dealer would politely rip that guy off on an oil change, and then invite me back into the garage to drink beers make fun of big rims and count the knobs missing from my tires.

Hardly something to brag about. The guy may have an ugly truck, but he doesn't deserve to be ripped off because of it.

EDIT - On second thought, the truck isn't ugly, just the wheels. Big deal.

I won’t even begin to claim to be the LR lover that some here on this site are. But I do appreciate the vehicle from an off roaders standpoint. I remember seeing the commercial years ago when they tipped one its side and beat on it with sledge hammers. That has always stuck with me and too see this now is kind of sad.

Thats kind of like saying "John Wayne wasn’t ugly, it’s just the dress he’s wearing."

Sorry I should have been more clear by rip off I meant charge standard dealer rate, Your right nobody deserves to pay more and get less because of their wheels or stereo or anything else, and yes those wheels are really god awfull. They charge me significantly less, more along the lines of a cheap indy shop.

Those wheels, tell me, that his isn'tafriad to spend money on almost anything.

When I was fixing Rovers for a pay-check... I would see people drop 5-6-7 grand on repairs to their truck. In my experiance, people who drop $2,000 on Wheels and tires dont comapin about the cost of fixing it.

Well he did likely spend a few dollars more, but they should not give you a cold shoulder for warranty work... find another dealer.

I bet those were a lot more than $2,000. Those look like ~24" rims. Last time I checked a tire for a 24" Rim was like 500-600 bucks each!
