Ok, this machine currently has 256MB of RAM and I would like to go up to at least 512 or even a gig if possible. From what I am hearing this machine has 2 expansion slots? Can I just add another 512 stick of RAM or can I add 2 512 sticks for a gig?

Has anyone done this? Please help....what would you do???

Joe:

Most laptops come with two expansion slots in the bottom; if you take a look you probably will see a small door with the word memory or a little diagram showing a memory chip underneath. If you have 512MB, changes are that you have two (2) 256MB chips. Open the memory compartment and take a look if you have one 512MB then you can add another one for a total of 1GB; if not, then yo have to take out the 256MB chips and replace it with 512MB chips.

Take a look in the laptop manual, or give the make and model number and I will research for you.

Ok, this is what I found out. I run some large applications and my machine is slowing down. I have run a virus scan, adware & defrag and it is still grogy. I'm assuming that adding RAM will help out?

System Specs
Type of system: Laptops

So does this mean that I can only have a max RAM of 512? Should I just buy another 256 stick of RAM?

Thanks guys -
