Traction control

I have a question about traction control activation. My TC light and the system activates at what seems like a very low tolerance. My TC system will activate when I come off a curb, and it even activated the other day when I was driving and rubbed up against a curb. Finally, yesterday, the TC activated while driving in a parking lot. I didn't hit anything, or accelerate suddenly, but the system still activated. Just seems like this type of use should not activate the TC system. Also, I have had random three amigos this year and when I read the fault codes, they are intermittant signal from wheel sensors. As soon as I clear the codes, the lights go out. Are these all symptoms that my wheel sensors are going out, or do I have hubs that are going bad? Or am I missing something else all together? Thanks in advance.

Just a thought but are you sure it's not the ABS kicking in. My ABS was activating at low speeds and on flat dry ground and in parking lots before I fixed it.

Mine was activating quite easily when I had a recurring 3 amigos problem even when the error had been reset and the lights were off. Even from a new, truck though they could throw on the pump over a pothole or kerb, a good thing cause it's preparing to activate ETC.

Are any of the hubs loose?

No, all the hubs are tight and no issues.

Why are you running into and off of curbs so often? You probably damaged something curb jumping.

Nope, just normal city driving.

Thanks for the info. I guess it is just normal.

There is what is called 'Off-Road' mode which is activated by the accelerometers for the ACE system. If you suddenly change the attitude of the car, this kicks in and runs the ABS pump briefly. It also reduces the ACE actuation or completely shuts it down, depending on the conditions.
