Has anybody installed an electric brake box on their DII? I have an '00 DII that I will be using to trailer my DI trail rig to URE!4 next week...my father-in-law has a 14' car hauler with electric brakes that I can use, but I do not have the brake box on my truck. I can't imagine this is rocket surgery, but it would be nice to hear some horror stories from anybody that has done it.

Thanks in advance.

I put one in my 2000 DII. It was relatively easy but took a lot longer than any other controller I have put in. I ended up putting it up on the top left side of the dash. I suppose it could go in a more traditional location on the bottom of the dash but it is likley to get knocked getting in and out of the vehicle.

It is tricky getting wire through the firewall and in and around the dash to any location. Getting the wires to the rear is fairly easy and the wire can be fed along the door sills and under the rear carpet to the right rear pillar where the turn signal wires are located. From there it was very straightford to tap into the wire harness.

It works well. The only glitch is when the trailer is drawing power to the fridge or the battery charger the alarm will sound shortly after the vehicle is locked!

Crash, which controller did you use? I'm needing to get one.

Mountenn, did the trailer you used have the 6-pin plug? If so, where did you get the female conecter for you truck? I have a friend that has a 18 ft car hauler with brakes that I will be needing to borrow soon and I need wire for it and put a controller in.

Thanks guys.
