I checked the fluid level the other morning and it was low. The stick says check when cold idling in "neutral". I got out my Haynes type book and it says check cold idling in "park". I did a search and found both ways being suggested and a couple even said shift it through the gears then check.

So, which is it? I did the check according to the stick and was just bellow the low mark so I added 246.5ml (.25L) to bring it up, which is what the book said would be amount to fill. Is it still good or what?

Thanks,
Scott

Update, I checked the fluid the other day by shifting the trans through the gears then to neutral and it was high. This morning I checked in meutral only and it was between low and high. What is going on with this, any ideas?

I always add 247.4 mL, that is to accomodate for the 900uL left in my transfer container, ATF is sort of clingy.
