transfer case noise/rebuild

Noise comes from transfer case area when I let off the throttle. Goes away when throttle is on and gears are under torque. This is not a gear noise that is continuos or noise that happens under power. Is there a transfer case rebuild kit for my 1996 Disco?
Research tells me that this is a symptom of idlershaft wear?

i had same exact noise, mine was because i did a u-joint to rotoflex conversion and did not have the correct spacer. caused my rear pinion bearing to go out due to hot spots on the race...sounded and acted same as you describe. my point is...are you sure it is transfer case and not a bearing somewhere? my transfer box whines a bit as well always has and probably always will.
