Will a xfer case from an 03 DII be a direct swap into my 96 DI if I swap the CDL housing? Does everything else match up?

I'm pretty sure there's a blanking plate there, I'll check on Microcat if nobody elses chimes in with an affirmative.

Both mine are pre-facelift so have all the CDL parts.

Edit:

Microcat lists the front housing with the CDL and without, and doesn't list a blanking plate as such, so possibly it does not have the machined face for the operating lever.

Edit 2:

The listing in Microcat is a little confusing, it lists item 21: '~ with Transfer' and item 9: '~ without Transfer'. Should be with differential and without differential I'd guess. but the main point appears to be that there is the operating lever housing and shaft, even though there is nothing inside.

Perhaps someone can confirm that by a physical check?

Part # 21 is FRC8041, Part # 9 is IJP100010

03 won't have a CDL so it's kind of worthless. It will be a bit different as far as internals. They changed it a bit to make it quieter and leak less.

Also, someone posted up about using a D1 front output housing on a D2 case, it was not pretty.
