will a bad trickle valve cause large evap leak code?

passes the freaking test every time, but continuously pops back up. 01 non SAI d2.

tried new gas cap, cleaned the cap seal surface on the neck, no smell of gas or anything like that.

have not tried a new purge valve, but since it passed the test multiple times, didnt think it was that?

should have done this before it was a month out of inspection.... :banghead:

did you smoke the fuel tank? or smoke it from the purge valve back? no smoke and holds pressure load a purge valve in the parts cannon. knock on wood we shoot a fuel cap and purge valve at every D2, with evap leak (gross or small leak detected) with positive results. but with these giant pieces of shit you probably have a 1 in a million situation you have a tinny pin hole in the tank that sometimes seals above 61 degrees ambient and opens to the size of a golf ball when you are in reverse, the temp is between 52-54 degrees, and you have the seat heater on. put plugs and wires in a d2 this week and it got towed back in because the lower hose to the steel heater line pipe busted off. fuck these trucks. do a head gasket job and the p.o.s. comes back a week later because the rear diff blows up.                  :mad

Im going to go by tonight and see if at least the readiness is set so it will pass state insp.

mine does that if i have the pump shoved all the way in, not if i keep it angled a bit. if it's been a half dozen drive cycles since the cel was cleared the readiness codes should be set. fwiw, if you can find a smoke machine for cheap buy one, priceless tool.
