i ordered some ome springs from a local 4wd shop. they said the reason it has taken so long is that they have had alot of trouble ordering from arb lately. i was just wondering if that was a bunch of bs.

they were 78 bucks, from high country 4x4 in boone. they were 781's for a DI. i think i'm just going to ask for my deposit back tomorrow, and go to EE or something. they have been telling me they will be in anyday now for about 2 weeks

Yeah dude. I'm all for supporting the local shop but man...Didn't know it was snowing that hard in NC.
ARB is s readily available. Everywhere.
Any of the usual suspects carry them.
Plus with shipping, you'll probably make out the same $ wise.

yeah, they first told me that it was delayed because of snow out west and then they said that they had to get them from australia and last i heard from them they were in a truck on their way from their supplier. that was over 2 weeks ago. needless to say, i don't think i will do anymore business with them

it just sucks because i got 4 busted shocks, wore out springs, bald tires. I have new shocks, 2 springs, and tires. i just have to wait for these other springs before i can do anything about it.

Rovertym is sounding pretty good just about now, huh?
Oh never mind, I'll just get banned again.

Why would Rovertym suddenly sound better? He's working with a bad retailer, not a bad manufacturer. Unfortunately, he's discovering why some retailers are cheaper than others. If you don't actually stock a lot of parts and just drop ship everything, you can charge a lower price. Find a retailer that actually stocks Rover parts and they should be on their way by Monday.

Jeff,

I have been in there several times, and the only good buy they ever had was some free stickers. They WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!!! Mainly because you are a college student with a Rover, and they think you are a stupid yuppie. I know it is good to support the locals, but they are there to SCALP the college students. Definately order from EE, and be done with it!

about a month ago there was a national back order on certain springs. the shop or online place you get them should be able to call their distributor and let you know exactly when they can get them or if they are on back order. make them work for you

The Lou!
East Coast - TLR

Try TLR, they are in eastern TN and they ship same day. I got mine to FL 2 days after I ordered - lightening fast. Not sure how close to the TN line that Boone is, but it might be worth a fun little road trip if you have a ride while yours is down. I intend on visiting them in person the next time I drive to see my family in Chattanooga, they are just NW up the ridge. Call first though, I may have gotten their last set of 781's last month.

About two months ago I was looking for a rear bumper, saw that High Country was a distributor, and called them on the off chance they had one in stock. The guy sounded like he didn't know much about Rovers, which was expected, but he started asking me about where to get springs and how much lift they provided (interested in LIFT, not weight capacity, use of truck, accessories to be added, etc.). I am pretty sure he was asking me because you had put in an order for some (you mentioned in threads here shortly thereafter). It boils down to they really don't know Rovers. What's it worth to deal with somebody that knows Rovers? Especially for items like springs, Rover 'speciality' type stuff, etc. (and considering they are more likely to be in stock)?? You can tell us now... :)

yeah i got my 751's from them but they didn't have and 781's anymore. i ordered from them about a week after i placed my order at high country and have had them for a month now. TLR was great i recommend them to others, however if you are in the boone area don't stop at HC4x4 they suck. i went ahead and got my deposit back and am putting in an order with EE monday. they told me it would be about 4 days, a big difference.

Jeffery,

If it's the same asshat that was running high country when I was there, (a LONG time ago) then get your cash back & run like hell. He was a big Heep/Chevy truck guy, hasseled me for trying to buy Toyota parts w/ my credit card, wanted to charge me 5% surcharge. There are plenty of reputable dealers on the net & even here in Charlotte. Tarheel 4wd stocks a fair amount of OME stuff, you might want to call them. They had some Landcruiser stuff I was looking for on the shelf. I haven't tried to buy any Rover stuff yet though.
